Our client is a large, successful multinational involved in key growth sectors with a workforce of more than 120,000 people in over 20 countries. They entered the New Zealand market place in 1999 and now run a number of automotive and heavy commercial dealerships selling new and used vehicles.

We are looking for an ambitious Financial Accountant with previous automotive experience to join their Team.

You will be expected to partner with the Retail Group businesses and oversee all aspects of the financial administration of the Retail Group companies; and provide commercial insight to the leadership teams to further develop and drive consistent practices throughout the business operations.

This will be achieved by ensuring compliance with internal and statutory policies and regulations as well as providing timely information to the leadership team on all aspects of business performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic advice and guidance to the Retail Group towards attaining its objectives
  • Monitor and report on financial performance of the company for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide support and advice to the Retail leadership team to assist with financial development
  • Provide managers across all levels of Retail group with reports to enhance and increase the performance of their business
  • Regular forecasting and budgeting of each business/company/group
  • Liaising with external parties (landlords, insurance companies, manufacturers & distributors)
  • Ensuring assets of the Retail Group are used to maximum effectiveness
  • Monitor and further develop departmental KPI's

About you:

  • You will be currently or have previously worked in an accounting role within the automotive sector
  • You will have strong MS Excel skills and possess an aptitude for understanding systems
  • You will have extensive financial accounting knowledge both in principle and practice
  • You will have excellent relationship building and negotiation skills
  • You wiil be tech savvy and 'hands on' in preforming data analysis to investigate and resolve finance/system issues and support business initiatives/change
  • You will have excellent organisational skills
  • You will obviously have great attention to detail
  • You will be self-motivated, being able to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • You will have strong commercial and business acumen and the ability to advise managers on financial matters
